First Step is a five-night introduction to overnight camp for your child entering first through fifth grades at Camp Nah-Jee-Wah, a world-class, all-inclusive program for children almost ready to take the leap from day camp to sleep away. Machane B'Yachad is for families with children who are comfortable in a Hebrew-speaking environment. Friends of Israel Scouts, Tzofim has partnered with the Israeli-American Council and NJY Camps to proudly present 12 days of overnight summer camp, offering campers hours of sports, arts, sciences, and Tzofim-led activities. Incentive Grants for First-Time Campers are now available through One Happy Camper. The Jewish Federation is proud to support and help fund camp incentives as part of the quest in securing a Jewish future for generations to come. 

Jewish overnight camp is often a transformational experience for children and teens, building their strengths, challenging them to examine their values and beliefs, and validating their unique experience and perspective. As one mother reported in a thank you note to the Federation, “I’d expected to get back the same kid I sent off to camp. This kid was different. She was happy to be part of a Jewish community.”

Immersion in joyful Jewish experiences from an early age is shown to strengthen Jewish identity, communal involvement, and leadership later in life. Campers will have opportunities to develop life-long friendships; learn high-level social and life skills; and stretch physically, spiritually and emotionally.

Jewish summer camp is an awesome experience that extends far beyond the eight weeks of summer. Playing Ga-Ga, color war, celebrating Shabbat with friends, and singing around the campfire are just a handful of experiences your child may have at Jewish summer camp.
